in liam's memory, ian's first boyfriend would probably be around caleb or trevor (sure, once he got older and mickey came back, he probably heard their whole history to death, but let's just ignore that for a sec).
and in franny's memory, there is absolutely no one else beside uncle ian except uncle mickey.
so when franny is like 6 to 9 years old, she gets into a spat with uncle liam and starts bawling. turns out, it's because liam told her that uncle ian's first love was caleb (or trevor). so ian smiles and tells franny that uncle mickey is his first and only love, and lip just laughs and chimes in, "yep, your uncle even ran away and joined the army because of uncle mickey." and then franny is beaming again, and the situation is resolved.
i just want that kind of cute little happening.
