Luckily, it hadn’t been a totally public humiliation, leaving Lucius with most of his dignity intact.  “ Will we?! ”  He snapped, instinctually biting back where the wound was still too fresh to distinguish friend from foe with any clarity. For all the grief Severus brought him, there was longevity between them, decades of friendship that wouldn’t be so easily be tossed after a single bad day. They’d overcome far worse.

His prickled stiffness melted more with every step along the marbled hallway; the more distance put between himself and the incident making Lucius’ shoulders bow in fractional relief. Silence was far from unfamiliar between them and Severus took the ice and the abuse with the same turned cheek that he always had. So much of his fire had died with the Potters and as much as Lucius wished he could absolve him of the pain, they both knew it had to be done, that a muggleborn was no fitting match for a man like Snape. Finally, begrudgingly, Lucius tilted him a soft look that meant ’ I’M SORRY ’ in outburst and protect what little pride remained to him.

“ What now ? ”  There was quiet defeat in his voice when the subject was swiftly changed, exhaustion veined through to his bones where he hadn’t slept in days.  “ I’m so tired, Severus. ”

Sev Kilvaer is a former member of the criminal organization called the Exchange. He and his brother Basile joined when they were very young, when events saw them orphaned and homeless on Nar Shaddaa. During a job, when Sev was sixteen, the two of them were arrested. While in prison, they were forced to fight other inmates and each other -- sort of like Cog Hive Seven but nowhere near as advanced. In one such match, orchestrated by the Exchange, Sev was forced to kill Basile so as to keep his freedom. He was.. never really the same after that.

I don't think I have one solid good memory of 2014 honestly. idk man there are bits and pieces. hanging out with friends, playing cards, talking. Nothing solid though.

The entire Ferguson thing I think because I've never actually seen such a large group of people worldwide react so strongly and quickly to something before. I don't know it almost gave me hope that we could actually make a difference

I read a lot of good books. I think I'm going to have to say the gentleman bastard books though. I do like smirking and brilliant assholes
