And if he doesn’t, Regulus would rather force him than plead for him. Pleading isn’t the Black way. Manipulation and violence is.

He dreams of it sometimes, having his brother locked up in the attic, hiding him away. He wants Sirius all to himself, sick with it. He wakes up hard those mornings, craving his brother and hating him in equal measure.

anyway the funny thing about ace attorney is that thanks to the collaborative effort of some very effortful people who run the online casemakers we effectively have unique, interactive ways of writing fanfiction that, if done well, feel pretty much out of the games. just like homestuck

3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do?

So many. As for which ones, it depends on which fic! Some definitely draw more from other fics, and as I’m thinking through influences, some similar names keep popping up (pretty much all of @lunapwrites’s catalogue, LullabyKnell’s Regulus in particular, but in general too), but there’s some works that are only visible in one or two of mine (the dogfather by hollimichele for if logic beat hate, the best mistakes (orphaned unfortunately) for DIWF, obviously Did You Miss Me? for Dead Shot, I could go on and on haha.

24. What’s a trope that you’d like to never hear about as long as you live, let alone write?

Ooh hmm that’s a hard one! I tend to be in the camp that even if I’m not interested in something, if it’s written in a way that’s compelling enough, you’ve sold me and I’ll enjoy it. But the flipside of that is that a lot of tropes without nuance, even for ships or characters I like, can be harder to get through. If I had to pick one to just vanish off the face of the earth though, it’s probably the “Everyone knows they’re dating before they do” trope, especially when it’s not actually that obvious and/or they grew up together? It can be cute, but it always leaves me feeling like they got pushed into it a bit. 

33. What do you like writing better: one shots or multi-chapter stuff? 

I have very big ideas sometimes, but I think I do my best writing (and likewise am most comfortable) with works that I can visualize all at once, which caps out at somewhere around 8k. I know very small things can feel overwhelming as an author (How do I cram this whole plot into 500 words) but I honestly love fleshing out a super small moment that’s indicative of a larger one and letting the reader fill in the negative space. (so, oneshots lmao. there’s just so much you can do with them!) 

43. Talk about a positive experience with fanfiction or the fanfiction community that you will always remember. 

I feel like I say this a lot, but the positive (and reactive/interactive) community I’ve found within hp in the two years has been an amazing experience. It has pushed me out of my shell and into actually interacting in ways that I absolutely would not have in previous fandoms, because none of them would have grabbed me by the hand and said “yes please write this, it’s maybe not my thing but it’s Amazing” the way I've gotten here.
