Lets get into it peoppplleeeeeee. I think my new word to describe how I feel is “crazy” because what people would do and get away with is LITERALLY CRAZY. This common theme of women being virgins and sold off to sacrificed in order for everyone else to have a normal life is wack. And I do understand that times were different and this was what happened but the fact that people would call their wedding day “their funeral” is (sorry my French) fucked up.
Going deeper into Les Noces, cause I found this concept really interesting, when these marriage laws were being passed and changed I wonder how long it took normal people to accept these changes. Im sure no one changed their behavior in one night cause some laws got changed, and I'm curious to see how the women really felt at the time of these laws. Im sure it was a scary idea to have this liberation and freedom after never having it for years. Also the fact that is was choreographed by a women is CRAZZZZYYY. You hear all these big names in the dance world at this time and Nijinska was one and probably one female choreographers at this time playing with the bog dogs. #yesqueen #breakthatglassceiling
