The rumors are true! You're looking at the new judge on Dancing With The Stars! The "angel with devil horns" is back! This time, for a whole season.
This month has been rather... crazy, to say the least. I finally left the house for more than a few hours, and decided to travel around half the globe just to go that extra mile. And the most important thing I have learnt on these travels so far is that, since growing my beard, some fans in China have began to start referring to it as “kiwi fruit-like”, which, I suppose, is quite a compliment. Hello, darlings. If you didn’t already know - which is totally fine - I’m Tom. Or Thomas, as my mother still frequently calls me. Or Tommo, or Tommy, or Tomothy, or Tom-Tom, or... I have a lot of nicknames, and those are just the ones that have evolved from my first name.
I’ve gotten in the horrible habit of going, “Nothing exciting to report for me!” when friends ask how I’ve been after days, weeks, or months of not speaking. This is a lie - I’m just lazy and/or horrible about talking about myself so I take the easy way out. Truthfully, it’s been a busy month. My son has joined karate, my daughter is slowly becoming a threenager, I have projects coming out in the summer, and I’ve been meeting with a new trainer who has been successfully kicking my ass. Plus, thanks to BuzzfeedBlue, I’ve just learned how to not only pour the perfect beer but also the proper way to eat a sandwich. Apparently you have to turn the buns upside down and lay your fingers a certain way across the bread. And that’s what you missed on Glee!
You know when you can feel a cold coming? That’s the worst. The weather in Vancouver has been terrible lately and I can just sense my body is beginning to shut down. I took a nap earlier today (Happy National Napping Day!) and I still feel out of whack. If anybody has any tips to fight off what feels like the inevitable sniffly nose and sore throat, please tell me because I am the biggest baby when I’m sick.
Another year where I’ve not been able to go to Coachella, because the universe has in fact decided that I am never going to be allowed to go. So I’ve been recreating Beyonce’s performance in the comfort of my various hotel rooms, whilst blasting her songs and likely irritating everybody nearby. That was until the cleaner of one of the hotels walked in on my performance, where I was trying to do ‘the walk’ on my bed (the makeshift stage) and I was in so much shock that somebody had discovered my secret antics, that I nearly fell off and landed on my head. Never a dull moment on a press tour.
This will probably sound odd,but do you ever sometimes want to dress up and ask someone to dance with you? Just even in the middle of a coffee shop, or on the sidewalk. Then he’d kiss you like Clark Gable and you’d go on your way? That is probably just me isn’t it? See, this is what happens when you are still a hopeless romantic way deep down, spend your life doing musicals and film two rom coms back to back
After staying in an Airbnb rental I feel like I’m never going to be able to travel any other way from now on. Spending hours talking to a charming Belgian lady about her life whilst she’s offering to cook me dinner? Yes please. I’ll take a host like that over a fancy hotel suite any day of the week. Although now I feel dumb because I’m not fluent in four languages like she is. I’m still not great at English let alone any others.
Have any of you actually tried drinking a whole pint of ice cold beer in one go? It’s difficult. It’s not so bad when it’s a little warmer, because it doesn’t hit the back of your throat feeling like Elsa’s trying to deep throat you with that weird magic she’s got going on. And when the beer is super gassy too, it just makes it worse. I thought I’d be clever by going for it, because why not, right? Makes me look cool as fuck. Except I ended up having to leave the bar I was in because I was damn near sick all over the floor. So that’s a summary of how my week in Miami has been.
