Tim rubbed at his eyes, his brow pinched from stress. He was exhausted. His hand trembled as he sat down on the next rock and looked around, his flashlight scanning the surrounding area. He had lost track of time down here in the cave. It felt as though he'd been down here for days. For all he knew, it could have. His GPS had lost signal as soon as he set foot inside. It was like a maze down here. Every turn he made, got him more and more lost.
He knew Kelvin and Virginia could handle themselves, but he couldn't help but worry. Tack on being worried for himself on top and the stress will only climb.
Releasing a shaky breath, he checked his supplies and frowned. His water was low and he only had so many MREs left. He needed to find the way out and soon. After taking a moment longer to rest, he stood back up, stumbling a bit as the world began to spin.
"Shit..." Tim reached out and steadied himself against the wall, his other hand gingerly touching his side.
He had a run in with one of those mutants, this one he lovingly dubbed 'legsy'. He shuddered and tried to stop thinking about the monstrosity. Right now he turned his focus back to figuring out the way out. Pushing forward, he began to sweat and his progress was slow. He really hoped he wouldn't run into anything else down here.
Time seemed to drag on as he pulled himself through the cave, only losing his sense of direction. He turned and he swore that the cave had changed behind him. Tears of frustration and hopelessness filled his eyes.
Home. He just wanted to go home.
He collapsed back onto the ground, letting out a choked sob.
"Tim."
Tim jolted awake and sat up right, his vision blurry and his mind struggling to comprehend. His hands came up to wipe his eyes, coming away wet. He looked around. This was his bed room. He was at home. Robbie sat next to him, concern in his eyes.
"Tim are you okay?"
It took a moment for him to respond but he slowly nodded his head. "Yeah, I'm alright... bad dream."
Kelvin frowned and moved closer to him, pulling him close and gently laying Tim's head on his shoulder. Tim opened his mouth to say something but stopped. He wasn't sure what he would say, but he wanted to say something.
Kelvin beat him to it. "What was it about?"
Tim let his eyes stare at a scar on Kelvin's chest as he thought about how to answer. "I was stuck in a cave. Back on the island... I couldn't find the way out."
Kelvin frowned. He remembered that day. Tim had gotten lost in a large cave and had barely managed to drag himself back to camp nearly three days later, dehydrated, exhausted, and beaten nearly to death. Gentle hands rubbed Tim's back.
"You're home. No more island. No more monsters. You're safe."
Tim closed his eyes, taking in a shuddering breath. "I know... I know..."
The Forest let me live my dreams of living in the woods. Sons of the Forest lets me live my dreams of living in the woods with my husband!!
You can get the boy out of the forest, but you can't get the forest out of the boy
Ga(y)ze of the Forest
You guys, I can’t believe the cannibals are homophobic. Kelvin and Tim were having a tender moment when that big red bitch tries to ruin it.
(I didn’t even notice him the first time, too busy looking into those somft brown eyes)
Then I also caught this moment. As far as I can tell, when Kelvin’s affection level is high, he doesn’t immediately get up whenever you approach. I didn’t gif it but he will sit beside you on the bench, too.
But THIS.
Damn, Kelv. You don’t have to tell Tim twice. (Actually he does, Tim does NOT do well with subtle hints)
Virginia third wheel moments, she carries this team.
No background version and original pic under the cut as is tradition
my commissions are open btw
after fights cookout 👍
(I realized that when the player has blood on them they don't have those notifications about them being soaked with blood and they have to wash it off to prevent infection. Seemingly hinting Tim isn't that bothered with all the blood he got from his enemies or his lol)
Headcanon that Tim is Mute, either selectively from the trauma he experienced or completely because of the obvious head trauma he had from the crash/the artifact.
Eric learned sign language so Tim wouldn't have to write everything down.
Tim and Eric teach Kelvin sign language too.
