So this was Xmas at casa DeeBeeUs™️ precisely 24 months ago. Something tells me this year won’t be quite so...er...*festive*. However it may be just as alcohol-soaked if I can’t get rid of this g.d. #polarbear! As everyone knows, polar bears roam the streets of Canada pretty much all year long but ESPECIALLY at Christmas, and I made the mistake one year (whilst shovelling my walk) of being friendly to this particular bear, who was just passing by, and inviting him in for a neighbourly Xmas libation. THEN HE WOULDN’T LEAVE!! And now EVERY Xmas he shows up at my door, installs himself next to my guitar collection, DEMANDS that I keep a full 40 of #Absolut IN THE FREEZER for him at all times, drinks himself stupid day and night for weeks, pisses off all the neighbours with his high volume playing and what can only be described as “off-key caterwauling” (of mainly Rush, Triumph, April Wine, and other classic Canadian bands), eats all my best snacks (but none of my worst ones!), befouls my bathrooms (and/or whatever room(s) he chooses to use as impromptu bathrooms), and then does what he ridiculously (and as far as I’m concerned euphemistically) refers to as “hibernation” (usually face down) on my living room floor. Until spring comes! Anyhoo: about half the #guitars in this picture are no longer in my collection! Merry Christmas! 🎄✨ I spent the day with my parents and brother, it was a quiet affair but it was really nice - we ate way too much food, my favorite thing about holidays is the food lol. So, This Is Christmas is an adorably wholesome Christmas story. This is your typical Hallmark-esque holiday YA rom-com and I loved every second of it! This is the perfect story to put you in the Christmas mood. Finley returns home from winter break to her hometown of Christmas, Oklahoma... and she finds one of her classmates, Arthur, staying at the inn her grandmother Jo runs with his aunt for the holiday. Arthur and his aunt are from the UK and wanted a “proper American Christmas” and what better place to celebrate than in a town named Christmas!. Finley and Arthur weren’t exactly enemies but they weren’t exactly friends either, but with him coming to town, Grandma Jo asks Finley to help their guests get the proper American Christmas the town website promised them – except Finley might have exaggerated on the website when she interned at the town hall over the summer, and none of what the website said is accurate. This leads to some hilarious moments. I loved seeing them grow as friends (and then more) as the story progressed – it all felt very natural.
