Amusing myself again.  And some people that I showed it to like it.

So, left to right. 

The Union Pacific 844 FEF 4-8-4 Northern...Opal Amerigo.

The Southern 4501 MS-1 2-8-2 Mikado...Bessie Baldwin.

The LNER 4472 A1/A3 4-6-2 Pacific Scott Gresley.

And they are not happy, mostly because Opal’s in the scene.  She’s not a pleasant person to be around.  As if Opal’s resting bitch face couldn’t signal to you that she’s not all that pleasant.

Call this image “The Three Rich Engines” as a little tongue in cheek thing to Awdry’s The Three Engines...

What they all have in common is their very large bank accounts.

And as written in that one short story, Bessie has a crush on Scott, and Scott does have a little crush on Bessie.

But Opal’s in the area, so...they’re just really not happy.

This was a fun exercise to create original faces for some of these characters I’ve added to the expanded universe that Gordon and Dana belong to.  And since Dana comes from the US, we’re bound to see more American engines...especially the one Dana originally drove before she went to Sodor.  That being Bessie.

Southern Railway Steam Locomotive # 4501, Baldwin built, Ms class 2-8-2 Mikado, is being cleaned and prepared for the next day's railfan excursion train service at Salisbury, NC, August 1985. The crewman is cleaning off ash from the front of the smoke box with a paint brush. The railfan excursion train will operate from Salisbury to Asheville, NC, and then return to Sailsbury.

During the Fourth of July weekend, Southern 4501 was used to haul passengers on an excursion around Chicago and Indiana known as the Independence Limited.
