She hadn’t bothered cleaning up, even though it had all ended hours ago. What better way to finally let the secrets between herself and Sam flow than to let him walk right into it? The blonde had had a funny feeling about Brady for a few months, especially while he was alone with her. But she had let it go, until she saw the look on his face accompanied by the unmistakable scent of sulfur when he knocked on the door that morning. Pretty paranoid herself, she had carved devil’s traps into the bottom of their kitchen chairs. Luckily so, because that made it pretty easy to trap him.
The blonde had played along, offered him to come in and eat a few cookies with her, overemphasizing how lonely she felt since Sam had run off late Friday night. Hook, line, and sinker the demon had taken her bait. It took a while for him to try to start his fun, but God she wished she could have captured the shock on his face when he found that he could not stand. Not having holy water on hand, she had tortured answers out of him with salt, using nearly all of what they kept on hand in the little apartment. After that, she exorcised him. Brady still hadn’t woken up... and she didn’t really want to check if he would. He had been her friend for a while, after all.
When Sam walked in the front door to the apartment, Jess remained in her seat at the table, lacing her fingers together and setting her clasped hands calmly onto the tabletop -- as if walking in and seeing his unconscious best-friend slumped over and covered in salt and tied to the kitchen chair was a normal sight.
❝ Deer hunting, huh? I think we have a lot to discuss, Winchester.❞
