Then the world went up in flames and everything changed. She was alone in a post apocalyptic world and she preferred it that way. Until the circumstances obliged her to change her mind.

“Jug, I can’t sleep.” I huff lightly kicking his leg. “What is it?” He mumbles into the pillow. I shuffle around, trying to find a comfortable position. “I don’t know! No position is pleasant enough for me to sleep! My back hurts, the baby has taken my bladder as a punching bag and you’re ignoring me!”

He hugs me to himself and kisses my forehead. “It’s gonna be okay, love.” “You keep saying that… But I feel too fucking bad to believe it.” “As soon as the baby’s out everything will get back to normal.” “Do you really believe that?” I ask looking up at him. “Yes, I do!
