  “ Funny, I didn’t expect to see anyone out here so early in the morning. ”

  Joshua’s approach is friendly enough, one hand giving a wave and a set of earmuffs settled over his ears. Snow looks a startlingly amount of beautiful in the early morning’s sun, what with how it twinkles. Had it not been so blinding and uncomfortably familiar, he would be able to appreciate it a bit more.

  For now, his attention is solely on the boy in front of him. There’s a quiet observation of his outfit, face, any personality traits he can pick up within the silence. .

  “ Those your age usually wake up later than this, don’t they? ”

this might as well be Atlas the way Blake is shivering. 

but she has a job to fulfill here, and that’s to find her friends, no matter what it takes. she isn’t sure of her own desire to show up in this place but perhaps it will come to her at a later date ... hopefully, it isn’t too late.

is that Oscar? her memory isn’t that bad ... but her finality in her own decision wavers, what if it was Ozpin, they haven’t spent time alone together since ... ever. after everything that has happened, they owe each other a conversation no matter what soul resides in that body.

“ os ... oz ... uh ... “ great stuff “ hey. “ and even if she’s talking to the stature of a 14-year-old boy, the faunus cannot help but make herself appear a bit smaller - it’s a nerve-wracking situation, her teammates were a lot better with this kind of stuff, she just wanted a nap.

‘It is the end roll of the bonus...’

His mind repeats this as the compass is opened. It doesn’t say anything to him, of course it wouldn’t, this wasn’t the dream. So therefore, nothing would be changed within it, rending the compass’ job as obsolete. All it could do was act as a regular one would. 

The Informant pouts at this fact. He didn’t quite like it. Though it’s not long before he discards the pout, he was lucky to even have the compass at all. It could only guide him north, but that was fine. At least he actually had one possession of his. 

“Better count my lucky stars...”

After sometime of walking, he takes a look at his surroundings. Guess it led him to a dock of some sorts. He closes the compass, placing it into his pocket as he watches the few people walking around the place.

People watching. He could do that. 

Maybe he’ll even be called out on it, not that he’d want to be called out, but maybe then he could actually strike up a conversation somehow.

Yang has never been someone who can be content remaining cooped up in a small space. Eidolon isn’t bad, missing sibling notwithstanding, but even with the snow she finds that she feels better when she makes time to explore outside the village. She’s seen the caves the villagers talk about, a strange field of ice that she can’t think of as anything besides a maze, and today she’s in a place apparently called Silvermoss Forest. It’s nostalgic, considering where she was before she came here. But it’s too quiet alone.

That only means that the crunch of snow beneath someone else’s feet rings loudly in her ears, and habit and something else has Yang unsheathing Ember Celica before she has time to think, prepared for anyone who might come into view.

So when she does see who it is, her relief is clear, tension leaving her shoulders and a smile dawning on her face as she retracts Ember Celica.

“Oscar, I had no idea you were here! We were so worried when we couldn’t find you after what happened with Jaune.” She approaches him, her posture open and ready to welcome who she thinks is a missing friend. “Are you doin’ okay? You must really like wandering off into the woods by yourself, at the rate you’re going.”

If Sasume is good at anything, she thinks, she’s good at violence; ideally for the sake of protecting others rather than destroying herself. However, she’s a mother (of sorts) all the same, and she’ll do her damnedest to make use of that as needed.

So she hugs the boy close, carefully at first but firmly all the same, protective and reassuring, and hums the low melody of her mother’s lullaby for good measure.

After a time, when she’s sure he’s better (if only by her own instinct), she straightens out and pulls back, hand smoothing over his hair before mirroring her other and settling on his shoulder. She offers him a hesitant smile.

“Better?”

  " Thanks, buddy, ” he grumbles into the snow pile he’s currently encased in. Jack kicks his legs a bit, sighing when the realization that only the space below his knees his sticking out. Could anyone even hear him? 

  Might as well give it a shot.

  “ Helloooo?! Anyone out there that can help a guy escape frostbite?! ” 

  It’s... definitely a joke. Winter spirits don’t get frostbite, after all!

The air eases. It is time to return what is to be returned.

Pray before the statue of Her Lady within Her holy abode and reminisce about what you desire. The glass shines.

Your aura has been returned, though it is only half of what it used to be… Still, you find something curious. Green and revitalizing, you see that you are able to create forcefields again, two times a day for 5 seconds at a time– they shatter like glass once their durability runs out. Do not worry: the shards melt upon contact with skin.
