Getting paid for your hard work is a great feeling.  The first time a DJ spins a party and walks away with a few hundred dollars is a feeling that is perhaps only matched by those with jobs in illicit industries, except that there is nothing wrong or harmful about DJing at all.  Wedding DJs know this the best – the often have the least stressful job (just a lot of planning and gear), and they walk home with thousands in their pocket for one night of work.  It feels good to get paid.  A producer has a much more difficult time getting paid, which is ironic, since DJs make their money by using a producer’s music.  The days of discovering a new artist and buying their music has been overshadowed by the sheer amount of music that is available to buy.
