@soundingonlyatnightasyousleep SCOTTISM...I LOVE THAT...

I would, however, contend that FatT’s ideas about religion are fundamentally rooted in Christianity since the GM and almost all the players have Christian backgrounds. As a non-Christian, I find a lot of how FatT engages with religion to be very hard to understand and fundamentally unrelatable.
Really? That’s interesting. I hadn’t considered that, but I do believe you.

I think it’s worth noting that romani jews definitely exist too. Here’s an article by an acquaintance and rroma jew. https://www.heyalma.com/wish-jews-knew-romani-jews/ this isn’t to say their mother can’t be christian or muslim of course.
oh yeah of course they do, i was thinking about linking that article but i couldn’t find it. thanks!

I’m trying to find the source on this, but I remember a post saying that a Dr Doom comic established that most roms in transia are muslim. Marvel geopolitics/race stuff is deeply questionable at best of course, but it’s interesting
I’m not sure which Doom comic that might be from either, but that actually makes a lot of sense i think...Transia shares/used to share borders with countries like Macedonia/Serbia/Bulgaria which (according to Wikipedia at least) all have a lot of Islamic Romani communities.
Discussion of racism and colonialism ahead/////////////////////////) Sorry to ask you a New Mutants question, but I think I remember you mentioning you don't like the Demon Bear Saga. Can you talk about why a little? (To me it seems like that story is rooted in white settler anxieties about decolonization and "reverse racism"+ includes some really racist imagery). Thanks, I love your blog and appreciate all the work you put into documenting X-Men stuff!
In lieu of the film unfortunately being a thing again, I should make a post about this actually. Thank for prompting, and also you’re 100% on the right track
(Gotta get back to working now but this evening I’m gonna at least start that)
ko-fi commission for @soundingonlyatnightasyousleep, who asked for “magneto in a taika waititi outfit, offering you caramels” and made me laugh so hard I thought i was gonna die

In many ways standard x-men stuff is worse than legion, it’s just that legion appears to feel active contempt for its audience
Now that’s some salt. XD But yeah, the show is-- Aggressive towards the audience, at very least. I think, though, the worst contempt is reserved for its own subject matter. Heroes/villains, mental illness, morality, love-- All of these are sneered at over the course of the show, usually in the name of critique or commentary. All of these things have real weight and meaning to them, but the show denies or “subverts” them, which in the end leaves everything feeling hollow.
Hate to say this, but a pin club cherik month would probably be popular....
honestly. youre right
