The British hi-fi specialist is aiming to raise £50,000 through a Kickstarter campaign to develop its SoundKey micro DAC for smartphones and tablets.
Kickstarter campaigns are two a penny these days, but usually they involve start-up companies few people have heard of before. Not in this case: Cyrus is well established in the hi-fi industry.
So, in an unusual move, Cyrus has revealed details of the new product it has in mind before it is available. Managing director Simon Freethy explains: “There’s a whole new generation of music lovers who just don’t know how good the music on their phones can sound, as it’s let down by the low-quality DACs and amplifiers employed in the phone.
