Hrmm...

I never know how I feel about world musics, folk musics, and Indigenous musics. Sometimes I really love it, and other times, it just doesn't speak to me. 

Why then do I love music like Baròk and this Floodplains CD from Kronos that is the closest thing to a combination of these musics with the most standard fare of western classical music, the string quartet. 

I love the string quartet because of its rich history as a masonic vision of equality. Four different, distinct voices that play a vital, but independent role in the overall whole.
