With this simple do-it-yourself recipe, you can make your own cream of chicken soup mix. This mix is a useful pantry staple that can be used in many recipes, like soups, casseroles, and sauces. You can make a lot of it and keep it on hand for quick, tasty meals.
Ingredients: 1 cup non-fat dry milk powder. 3/4 cup cornstarch. 1/4 cup chicken bouillon granules. 2 tablespoons dried minced onion. 1 teaspoon dried thyme. 1 teaspoon dried basil. 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
Instructions: Put the chicken bouillon granules, cornstarch, non-fat dry milk powder, dried minced onion, dried thyme, dried basil, dried parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Make sure to mix the ingredients well so that they are spread out evenly. Keep the cream of chicken soup mix in a container or plastic bag that won't let air in. Put 1/3 cup of the mix and 1 1/4 cups of water in a saucepan. This will make soup. Over medium-low heat, stir the mixture often until it gets thick and starts to boil. When the soup gets thick, you can use it in your favorite recipes.
