william was born into the shadow of a devil. his father hated the very reflection in the boy’s eyes—because they shared the same cursed gaze. every time the boy cried, the house tasted blood, while his mother watched from a distance, lost in her own chemical haze, selling herself to old men to pay her heavy debts. he was only three years old. how could a toddler fight the monsters in his own hallway?one night, in that filthy, rusted bed, the devil walked in, reeking of vodka and absolute darkness. he took away the boy's innocence in the worst way a father could, shattering his body and soul for hours under the silent stare of a plastic jesus on the wall. the boy cried out to the wooden savior, 'if you are real, why didn't you make me dangerous? why did you leave me here to rot?' through his tears, the pale boy fell into a dream where jesus whispered, 'one day, i will save you.' but in william's life, that 'one day' never crossed the state line.
