In 1965 the Watts riots made national news, but what went unreported was that in 1967 Mrs. Odessa C. Cox lead a small group of citizens that founded Los Angeles Southwest College. That was the answer to civil unrest. Education. An oasis of hope. A jewel amongst ashes. Here we are 50 years later and the Institution still stands. Serving South LA, Watts and over 25+ zip codes LASC is still enriching lives. We do more than just watch boys in the hood, we educate them and teach them to become men. Tomorrow we will have an open house and you are invited. We'll have tacos, BBQ, Elsa, Spider-Man, a magician, a balloon artist, face painters, a trackless train and a chance for you to enroll and become a better person by what you have learned. I hope to see you there. Please share. I Believe in YOU! -@JohnelBarron (Mr. B) #Education #Family #LASC #LosAngelesSouthwestCollege #SouthwestDaze
