The other was greeted by a look of boredom when he came bursting through his doors, screaming and making a ruckus all the while. So much for his nap. He thought to himself. And then ... That’s when it dawned on him. 「 Oi! 」 He spoke out harshly, cutting the other’s ranting and raving short without care or consideration. 「 How long have you been gone? 」 That was why things seemed to be so damn quiet. Now that he was aware of it, he was already missing it.
Of course, he would have known had he cared enough to listen to the other when he had last reported to him about said mission he had disappeared to — almost more than two weeks ago.

A Surprise Visit
八十 Living in a sushi shop, Yamamoto was rather used to unexpected visitors; both old and new. After all, his old man easily had one of the best joints as far as food went in that small town... But a certain someone always seemed to draw shock from the young swordsman. Every. Time.
A very loud someone at that.
Yamamoto nearly drops both his books and baseball gear at a familiar greeting ringing in his ears. It graces them the moment he steps past the fabric hanging over the front door. Needless to say... A few things were probably dropped in that moment by patrons who had never heard such a sound before.
And as always, the sight of the Varia's Rain also draws forth a smile from Yamamoto. "Squalo!"
He may have forgotten his own birthday this year , but there’s one birthday he’ll never forget .
❝ Buon compleanno Squalo! ❞ @soutsuka
Why are some the people he loves most like this ?
❝ Yo , Squalo ! ❞
❝ Close your eyes , I’ got a surprise for you . ❞
@soutsuka
@soutsuka said “ you can stay with me tonight. ”
❝ I didn’t realise you were allowed sleep overs here . ❞
Dino remarked , only half in jest . Varia Headquarters wasn’t usually a place guests could simply waltz into and treat like a hotel , no matter what rank they boasted . But it had been a drag of a day and the Don’s exhaustion sunk bone deep , eyes straining to stay open a second longer especially after sipping on a few rounds of Chianti Classico generously poured by his host to ebb away the stress of their most recent mission . Admittedly , not one of his favourite squads to collaborate with . However , the silver lining of being able to spend more time with Squalo , something always Dino lamented being in desperate shortage of , is well worth sullying his hands a little for .
His body melted with instant relief against the armchair he’d settled into , at this rate , Squalo would have to peel him off the furniture if he had any hopes of ever getting rid of him again .
❝ Thanks though , I'll definitely take you up on the offer .❞
❝ It’s been way too long since I got to sleep next to you , I miss it . ❞

PROMPT / interrogation starters. @soutsuka beseeched: Squalo: “An accident? is that what you’re going with? VOI!”
LOOKING SUSPICIOUSLY LIKE A TROUBLEMAKING CHILD GETTING CAUGHT BY THEIR MOTHER, Belphegor reluctantly turns && faces the Varia Strategy Captain with a sheepish grin, beads of sweat rolling down his cheek. “Uh oh.”
Leaning over the MANGLED CORPSE of a middle aged man, the victim’s blood still warm on Belphegor’s hands, he suddenly felt like complaining about Xanxus’s habit of inviting his guests to the Varia Castle, but not assigning them an identifiable escort. Unfortunately, the Varia were a bit TOO GOOD at what they did, && tended to jump to conclusions when it came to unfamiliar strangers wandering through the dimly lit corridors. Essentially, it was far from Belphegor’s fault; alas, Xanxus was unlikely to agree with such a logical sentiment.
Raising his palms in SURRENDER to the silver-haired swordsman, the Storm Commander protests quickly, “The Prince isn’t to blame! I thought he was an intruder, honest!” Despite Squalo’s loud remark, Princes don’t do ‘ACCIDENTS’, && even then, Belphegor was convinced that Xanxus really wouldn’t care whether or not the murder was intentional.
To make matters worse, it was FAR TOO LATE to attempt to pin the murder on Levi; the ripper Prince was a deer caught in the headlights with no hope of dashing away in time. Briefly, Belphegor wondered if he could somehow bribe Mammon into covering for him with psychic powers, but then recalled that the greedy illusionist was out on a mission && thus tragically unavailable to save the Prince’s sorry ass.
It was in such UNFORTUNATE SCENARIOS where the Varia Commander had no choice but to make a tactical retreat, steering clear of Xanxus && the Varia Estate entirely for a solid week or so, until his temperamental boss burns off all his ( misplaced ) anger && promptly forgets whatever && whoever caused him grief.
