had an urge to do human/modern au redesigns for all the members of the Merry Club (tm) back-to-back to see how diverse I could make them without sacrificing their core characteristics and making them recognisible... enough ahkjhaj. There were just too many blondes in this team originally so I played around with some of their colours x D

also I've given them more or less human/realistic names (and nicknames I guess) in this au of mine, so it could get a tad confusing recognising them instantly, idk. I did my best to choose suitable names but who knows I mean. Someone might come up with even better versions for all I know. From left to right we have (character - their human name):

Dunno - Nikolai or "Kolya" for a friendly nickname (a nod to the original author of the books, Nikolai Nosov);

Thumbelina - Lise (from her og Dutch name, Tommelise);

Cippolino - Cipriano or "Cip" (Italian, meaning "from Cyprus"; it sounds close enough to the og name);

Pencil - Erastus (meaning "beloved", I just rlly fn love this name and it sounds very "artsy" to me) for an "official" name, with his friendly/casual nickname being Karan (together with a surname - Adashev - it's a wordplay on his Russian name, Karandash);

Hurvinek - Gavril or Gabriel (I had additional help with this one, I'm not that familiar with Czech naming conventions admittedly);

Buratino - Benedetto, or Bettino, or just "Tin" (Italian, meaning "blessed"; also sounds close enough to the og name);

Petrushka - Pyotr or "Petrukha" (clearly the easiest one : D);

Screwbolt - Samoil (a simple wordplay on his Russian name, Samodelkin).
