How does the New Age Program work?

hiii again!!!! thank you for the ask!!!!!!!!

so the new age program is a worldbuilding point that hasn't been fully developed yet. it still has a lot of plotholes but it is a necessary device for the sovikati meeting in the first place.

you see, in incorrect quotes, the plot is that several deceased countryhuman personifications of various countries (aka their families) get revived in the present day, ages after their deaths. this includes soviet union, katipunan, and several others.

the resurrection also happens in waves, just like how kati was revived a week/a month/first before sovi was revived. each country-personified figures are revived where they last died.

the new age program used to be the NAM, a movement to detain and keep each and every resurrected figure to ensure they don't mess up the fragile politics of the present day with their influence.

then north korea made a suggestion that many others also backed (including a reluctant philippines who was ignorant didn't know any better and simply wanted his father back with them) in an attempt to play at geopolitics: which is to just put them at a retirement home.

the NAM movement was strict and harsh. resurrected figures, whether you be as evil as the japanese empire or simply a local revolutionary society, you'd be detained in an actual jail cell, no contact from your relations or relatives, yadda yadda, which makes the new age progran infinitely better. does it make sense?

the new age program is a program that forwarded the erection of an artificial island in the north pacific, with housing, buildings, etc., it's reminiscent of simple countryside beauty mixed with suburban aesthetics. the plan was to give the resurrected their own little society and keep them uninvolved in today's international scene.

russia was urged to spearhead the program and although many were against it, most especially the usa, the emergence of these past figures once again shifted the power balance and he was ultimately overruled (i hate politics with a burning passion istg).

Perla hanging out with Princess and Princess is like “I want dad” and so she takes her to Kati and she’s like “NOOOOO” in that voice kids do when they think you’re stupid and have to explain something reasonable to you “that’s papa (idk what term she’d use sry), I want dad.”

And Perla is really confused, so she’s like “this is your dad” and Princess is like “no, I told you, that’s papa. I want dad” and she points out the window to Sovi’s house and Perla just looks up at Kati and he’s all like FUUUUUCK bc how does he explain this without revealing his gay relationship with his neighbor.

perla's all like "is there something you're not telling me, mahal?"

and kati has to fumble real bad trying to justify why princess is calling his neighbor her father

and i like to think that princess calls kati "itay" or "tatay" whilst she simply calls sovi "papa" or some other variation, i dunno ajdvakdhjss

Sovikati just revamping their argument when Kati comes to get Princess, but then Princess starts BAWLING bc she doesn’t know what it is but something is wrong with her family.

So then they both panic and try to comfort her and she’s all like “why do you hate eachother” or something and they say they don’t but she says she doesn’t believe them and so they have to tell her that they fought and she makes them promise they’ll make up before she’ll go with Kati. So once they promise she goes with Kati back to his house. They WANT to just forget it but the guilt of breaking their promise eats at the both of them. So Kati goes to Soviets house at Princess’ request (she’s been begging for forever) bc she wants to see her papa. So she gets to see her papa and Soviet invites Kati in, and it’s very awkward but they start to work through their fight, it’s still messy and they’re still hurt, but when Kati and Princess leave Princess asks if they “can see papa more?” And Kati has to think about it for a bit but eventually says yes.
