it also doesn’t help that girls aren’t rly usually encouraged to love/appreciate science + math. i really have never been amazing @ math but…idk i appreciate it’s beauty and application. if i had learned it in a stress free way i might even be better @ it! who knows

yeah like??? i was pretty lucky in that regard bc my parents encouraged my interest in science but it still wasn’t enough

i was gonna respond 2 one of ur earlier posts but the same happened to me as a little kid! i really wanted to be a marine biologist but even after having gone to a school specifically for that the enthusiasm 4 science+math was just…sapped away, partly by ppl who told i couldn’t make a life that way and partly cus of the way math and science is taught in public schools :^/

yeah the way that math and science are taught in public schools definitely Doesnt Help. like... whenever i had a teacher for a math or science class that made an effort to explain it and make it interesting i did super well and loved it, but there were so few of those teachers! and i did science camp stuff when i was little and really enjoyed that too
