CAGELOCKE 2018: Update 3.75
Hey! One last mini update to inform everyone about what happened. Nothing major has occurred, except.
Once more, a Pokemon has valiantly entered the breach. Once more, a beloved friend has fallen. Dewitt the Rattata has died. His was a short life. He waited patiently for his turn to see combat. Eventually, he was granted a position as Wielder of the Cut. He gave up his position to volunteer to learn an HM so that he could be of use, even at Level 4. But he didn’t stop there. When the team ran into a Marill who had the potential to devastate the whole team with Rollout, Dewitt bravely volunteered again, but not to learn a move but to draw attention away from his wounded comrades so that they could be healed. Dewitt sacrificed himself so that others might live. And for that, we thank him, we honor him, and we salute his sacrifice. Dewitt was the most loyal and bravest of us all.
Next update should contain some training and the long awaited and highly dreaded battle with Whitney. I don’t think everyone will make it out of this alive. Stay tuned! <3
CAGELOCK 2018: Update 3.5
So, a quick update for the results of the second Cage Match.
I went with Aires again. My thoughts were, even though they’re my fave atm, they had a revive to use. Which is very lucky because Dygert went with a Flaaffy, so I was hecked. Aires put up a beautiful attempt with a first move Fury Attack, five hits, two crits, it was lit. But predictably, Flaaffy had a OHKO with a Thundershock and Aires went down. I’m gonna go ahead and use my revive on him, so it’s not a big deal, except Aires’s Cage Match days are over. <3
CAGELOCK 2018: Update 3
Psy’s Current Team:
Aires, Spearow, Route 46, Level 17 Icarus, Chikorita, New Bark Town (GIFT), Level 11 Gunn, Geodude, Dark Cave, Level 16 Law, Poliwag, Ruins of Alph, Level 15 Melvin, Gastly, Sprout Tower, Level 7 Hugh, Zubat, Slowpoke Well, Level 6
As in all Nuzlocke challenges, friends will fall along the way. It’s never expected, it’s always heart-wrenching, but it always happens at some point. And we have reached the point in CageLocke 2018 that we must say goodbye to a beloved friend. It’s with a heavy soul that I report the death of Shimmer the Pidgey. He was kind and brave, just, loyal, and true. Remember what happened to a boy because he strayed across the path of Bugsy. Remember Shimmer.
On a somewhat lighter note, I did end up beating Bugsy. Shimmer fell very surprisingly. Bugsy opened with his most powerful Pokemon, a Scyther, which I was not expecting. He used Focus Energy, went into a Quick Attack which was a crit, and it was a OHKO. In another surprise move, MVP of the Bugsy battle goes to Gunn, the Geodude, once more, who stat boosted to oblivion to take out all three of Bugsy’s Pokemon. Hearteyes for Gunn tbh.
Before this, I picked up a Zubat and a Sandshrew, so that was nice. After the gym battle, I fought Mickey, who put up less of a challenge than I had originally thought he would? His Quilava never used a damage move, so I ended up just switching every few moves to negate the stat decreases. Go team! I haven’t fully decided who I’ll be using for the Cage Match. I’m finding I have four Pokemon who are indispensable at the moment and I really don’t want to lose them, so I’m hesitant to throw them in the ring. But if I don’t, the next Cage Match will feel less consequential and indeed be more boring since I think I’m only left with about those four Pokemon over level 10. I’ll have to think on it tbh.
GO TEAM PSY.
CageLocke 2018!
My best pal Dygert (soystrawbs) and I will be completing a Nuzlocke challenge together! But not any Nuzlocke, oh no. It’s CAGELOCK 2018!
That’s right! Two friends enter, both leave eventually when they finish. We’ll be playing HeartGold with traditional Nuzlocke rules which I’ll outline in detail below. But! We’re adding a new component: after every gym leader, the two of us will face off with one single chosen Pokemon. The winner will receive a prize; the loser will say goodbye to a beloved member of their team! Who will triumph! Who will succumb? Let’s find out on CAGELOCK 2018: HEARTGOLD EDITION!
Here are the rules:
-If a Pokemon faints, it will be released or boxed. -You may only catch the first Pokemon on each route, excepting shiny Pokemon. If you fail to catch the first Pokemon on a Route, too bad. They may only catch the first Pokemon on each route. -You must nickname each Pokemon. -You may not equip held items or use TMs. -If you white out, you lose. -Starter Pokemon will be chosen randomly. -A player may not catch a Pokemon of the same evolutionary line twice. -Players may receive gift Pokemon freely, without counting against their limit. The Game Corner, however, has a limit of one purchase per player. -After each gym battle, both players enter “The Cage.” Each player will select one Pokemon and enter into a battle with the other player. The Pokemon will be set to the same level. -The loser of the battle will release or box the losing Pokemon. -The winner of the battle will receive their choice of one of the following: you may teach one Pokemon one TM, you may equip held items to one chosen Pokemon, or you may choose to revive a Pokemon who has won a Cage Match. Each ability may be stored for later use. -You may only enter The Cage with a specific Pokemon twice. -After the Elite Four, the two players will have a final match. This will be a full-team battle, consisting of six Pokemon per team. -The winner of each Cage Match will receive one Victory Point. Additionally, the winner of the final battle will receive three Victory Points.
