So just a peek at my current workstation. Now i have 2 folding tables to work on so i can get away from my computer (which always kills my productivity). From here i’m working on some concept art and a drawing of Thor i do whenever i feel like cutting loose. I’m really starting to get in the groove of drawing graffiti and street art (to which there is a fair amount of in this issue). Also fellow artist @goatsnart generously donated some graffiti art to which you’ll find strewn about in the issue. I got tags and stencil art down (alongside some of the more basic forms of graffiti art [bubble/block]). I’m working my way up to Wildstyle. Which is harder to master and requires both serious technique and style. I also hope to start creating more doodles that can be used for sticker art.
Whenever I’m working on pages or art in general i often have a stack of comics/artbooks/whatever that i look at for inspiration. I love google and use it frequently when i’m working but once again, my attention span just goes out the window. So more and more i try to add to my library of stuff so i can stop relying on google and just have a core group of things to reference. Print helps me focus and i can really study something.
And am i trying to be an expert in street art? No. But i just want to be convincing and really understand this art without coming off as that guy who wants be hip.
