Dear friends,
As you might know, some of the best people in the world and I are building a space apothecary. It is a story about an outer colony apothecary obsessed with Old Earth ritual and tradition, and also about the space immigrant diaspora and the obsessive nature of archiving and collecting. We're building gorgeous props, creating a wonderful narrative universe, designing interesting interactions, and doing a lot of detail carpentry, and then lugging it all to the desert for Burning Man 2016.
This project has been on my list in some form, since we unloaded the Last Outpost in 2014. We love bringing detailed, immersive, narrative pieces to Burning Man - the sort of thing that you could lose hours in exploring and unravelling, even if you were completely sober.
As usual, we're working with an all volunteer crew, and building big art isn't easy, or cheap. So, I'm asking for your help. I've just launched our Kickstarter for the Last Apothecary, where you'll have a chance to own some props and other ephemera from our project, all crafted and designed by one of our prop fabricators(usually me, really). If you just want a shirt or a patch, we have that too.
