Heyo, here’s another OC species, a distant relative to Scylis, the Ulanguilagornicorns!
Ulanguilagornicorns, or as they call themselves, Str’Atta are a small reptile like humanoid species that inhabit asteroid belts and planetary debris. They are related to the Dilanguilagornicorns, though genetic analysis shows the two sentient species having split from each other over 100 million years go, before the destruction of their home world. The Str’Atta are as intelligent as average space fairing species, though are notably significantly less intelligent than Dilanguilagornicorns, who are capable of calculating long distance space flights to far away star systems, accounting for the trajectory of their destination relative to themselves. Str’Atta instead cling to Dilanguilagornicorns during long distance flights where the two species may end up going into cryptobiosis for millions of years. The larger Dilanguilagornicorns allow these passengers to hang onto them as they see the Str’Atta as food. Despite this, the Str’Atta see the Dilanguilagornicorns as gods to be feared and worshipped. When fully grown, a Str’Atta stays about 4’-8’ tall, and unlike their larger relatives, are not functionarily immortal. The maximum lifespan one can achieve has been recorded at 4,446,067,118 years old, having spent about 75% of their total lifespan in cryptobiosis. The Str’Atta society is mostly based around growing anaerobic single cell life forms in their hollow asteroid homes in large farm chambers. Personality-wise, they are very kobold-like, being a small dragonic humanoid. They are extremely crafty, and can construct quite complex machinery despite being in low resource environments. They can often be seen scrapping entire starships lost to Dilanguilagornicorn attacks, only to use the tech to build their own frankensteined crafts.
