The Plague Reapers
"In facie caliginis pestis; Lucem sanantem Imperatoris portamus
In facie miasmatis morbi; Ventos vitae emittimus
In facie putrefactionis ruinae; Fides nostra nova vita nos inspirat
Bolter sacrum est pilula nostra
Gladius sacrus bracchium putrescens secat
Malleus divinus fatum eorum qui morbum ferunt signat
Fides est larva nostra
Ira, voluntas nostra
Devotio, officium nostrum
Et mors, Panacea"
My homebrew Space Marine chapter; the Glade Slivers.
They are based, in part, on the history of my current home region. Their home world, Lughnasa, is a Feudal World. The system's sun is incredibly dangerous and life can only exist on parts of the world that are shielded by the canopy of a mega-flora, the Myr-Tree, also known as the Worldkeeper. The inhabitants of Lughnasa see the Worldkeeper as a manifestation of the God-Emperor.
The planet is officially ruled by a governor, but most if the social and spiritual leadership is in the hands of eight farmer dynasties.
The Shatter-Bark plant plays an important role in the planet's rituals. It is a vine that grows on the Worldkeeper's roots and is known for its incredibly painful neurotoxin.
Space Marine Neophytes get seeds of the plant implanted under their skin, where it begins to sprout and grow, spreading through their arms, legs and back. With the implantation of the black carapace, the plant is removed, leaving behind distinctive scar patterns.

Scarab Stewards and Shields of Melissus, two homebrew chapters I threw together for my friends. The former are a roaming chapter of Blood Angels successors, going between imperial worlds to collect and preserve bits of their history focusing mainly on art. The latter are White Scars successors with a preference for aerial assaults: Jump pack marines, Inceptors, Suppressors, backed up by land speeders, storm speeders and everything else that flies fast.

Toying with the void
The shutter doors slammed closed behind him as Tyberos entered his personal chambers. While it could be described as minimalist when compared to some of other "elaborate" arrangements his fellow chapter masters enjoyed there was one thing the red wake had that others didn't.
There was a low rumbling sigh as the massive space marine settled into his chair his muscles barely letting go of their tense position after a long bout of hunting in the void. Turning his chair 180°'s he'd let his eyes settle on a vast emptiness contained behind several inches of glass. His blackened eyes scanned the abyss able to pick out imperceptible movements in the water that would take a hundred untrained eyes to even catch the faintest glimpse of.
"There you are..." His voice rattled in his chest having picked out a small shimmer of white amongst the darkness. Pressing a button on his chair a hatch would hiss before a hunk of bloodied meat would drop into the tank and just quickly a pair of multilayered jaws would snap around it tearing and shaking a bite out of it before pulling it off into the void like water.
Tyberos wouldn't call it a pet, it was a sacred treasure from the Carcharodons' homeworld an apex predator thought to have been extinct and largest of its kind. The space marine felt a kinship with it in a way and that was part of the reason he came up with this little game of eye spy. Imagining himself submerged in the cold uncaring waters, his eyes the only thing keeping him from becoming this beasts next meal, not that he had doubts of his strength but from watching this efficient hunter feast it was obvious to him that it would be a close fight.
Of course there was one other thing he enjoyed during this time...
"~THUNK~"
The sound of the beast's snout pressing against the glass enclosure echoed throughout his quarters, even after countless years aboard the vessel it still had not quite grasped the dimensions of its new home. And like he had done countless times before, Tyberos laughed- His body quaking in sharp jerks as he felt air leave his lungs, he had to brace himself on his chair just to keep what was left of his composure as he watched the ancient animal flounder around for a moment before correcting itself. No one would have believed it if they heard it, the jolly belly laugh that shook the entire room, the red wake, slayer of countless traitors and xenos alike surely was above such simple jests... but at the end of the day, he was still a man, and simple pleasures like this weren't entirely lost on him.

once again working on trying to design my space marine chapter, and im running into issues (again)
ive got enough of an idea of how they work (who they're descendants of, what their deal is, etc. etc.) but my problem is i have no clue how to draw the different layers of armor. and i don't have a good reference of "armorless" space marines
