It was later edited together with Super Giant 8: The Devil's Incarnation (1959) and Super Giant 9: Kingdom of the Poison Moth (1959) - also both stand-alones - to become the Starman film Evil Brain From Outer Space (1964).

The reason I was disappointed with the Space Mutants

We had too many guys that looked like The Toxic Avenger, and not enough really creative ones like Optikk

Seriously, if we ever revisit these characters, I’d want some full on redesigns for a lot of them.

Slush-head is a great concept but I hate his face.

I hate a lot of their faces. Especially Flogg’s.

Karatti has a great Predator/Yajuta energy while looking different though.

I’d add a crewmember that looks like a cross between the Alien Resurrection Newborn and a Necron if I could

This film was later chopped up, dubbed, and edited together with two other Super Giant films to become the Starman movie Evil Brain From Outer Space (1964).

Spaceman Contro I Vampiri Dello Spazio (Spaceman versus Space Vampires).

Based on the image, this is the Italian version of Super Giant 7: The Space Mutant Appears (1958), which was later combined with Super Giant 8 & 9 to become the Starman film Evil Brain From Outer Space (1964).

I’ve not been able to find a lot of information about this Italian adaptation, and most of it seems incorrect.  First of all, the film is listed as having been released in 1957 (although one site said it came out in 1952), but Super Giant 7 wasn’t released until April, 1958.  Second, Teruo Ishii is listed as the director, but he stopped working on the series after Super Giant 6; the director of Super Giant 7 was Akira Mitsuwa.  Third, listings I’ve found for this film put it at 90 minutes long; the original film was only 45 minutes.  And finally, none of the cast listed on the poster seem to match with the cast of the original.

This might actually be an Italian version of the aforementioned Evil Brain From Space, which was 78 minutes long.  However, until such time as I wake up and magically speak and understand Italian, I will probably never know for sure.

The poster for the seventh installment in the Super Giant (aka Starman) series, Super Giant: The Space Mutant Appears.  In case you were wondering, this is the Space Mutant:

This guy is, hands down, the best monster that Super Giant/Starman battles in the entire series.

This 45 minute film, released on April 29, 1958, is the first of the series to not be directed by Teruo Iishi (Horrors of Malformed Men).  Ishii-san, who directed the first six installments of Super Giant, left the series after learning that a young boy was seriously injured after jumping out a window in an attempt to fly like Super Giant.

The first six films had been two-parters shot in the style of movie serials.  This film, and the two that followed (Super Giant 8: The Devil’s Incarnation, and Super Giant 9:Kingdom of the Poison Moth) were stand-alone short features.  

However, that didn’t stop Walter Manley Enterprises from smooshing them together to make Evil Brain From Outer Space (1964) for release to American television.  Evil Brain From Outer Space is only 78 minutes long, which means that 81 minutes of footage from the original three films was left on the editing room floor.
