Heyyy it’s me

------
Arms stretching high above their head as the dawn of the sun peaks through sightly parted curtains, Space “smiled” as they takes a moment to sit there in bed with their blankets pooled at their hips. Placing their hands down, they arched their back forward to feel the stretch of two very large feathered wings stretch out to the best of their ability with being in bed.
Little pats caught Space's attention, making them look that short hair that seems to defy gravity swayed with the movement of their head. White glowing eyes scrunched at the corners like how a normal humans eyes would when they smile.
Sock had himself reared up on the glass of his terrarium, showing off his pale tan belly at seeing his star filled owner, eyes looking like they have their own star in them due to the larger one in Space's chest. Their heart, in a sense.
"Hungry little guy, ha? C'mon buddy, it's that one holiday humans celebrate. And there's some stuff I wanna try so you get to be my little assistant."
Sock's back legs wiggled a bit when he was picked up and draped over stary shoulders. He relaxed there and relished in the heat the space being provided.
The wings on Space shrunk to be smaller, mimicking the smallness of wings in those animated tv shows that pop up from time to time. Made it easier to hide them anyway when going out in public even with a human disguise and moving about their home.
The stellar being slipped into the kitchen and flicked the light on. As they moved about the kitchen, the feathers of their wings seem to reflect any stellar body out of this world that's hidden deep within the darkness of space that the humans telescopes and satellites have not yet reached.
A kale leaf was placed down on a plate, some blueberries, a slice of banana, and some ground beef was settled. Space removed Sock from their shoulders and set him down to eat, watching the skink go to town on it. They didn't need to eat, had no reason to. It was a fascination to them to watch this tiny thing where they didn't need to.
As the lizard ate, Space went over to a shelf where they kept little things here and there. One thing being a baked goods book with many kinds of things in it. Thing is, from their understanding, the cook book was from a video game about beings with powers that were resurrected from the dead. Where they can travel to far places of the Solar System. The farthest being a centaur planet, 1 out of 40,000 called 7066 Nessus.
They shook their head with a chuckle. Honestly, they've played it a bit and do find it highly enjoyable. *As for the baking, it was basically sugar cookies, but it's the name they use for it that makes it fun. Reading over the instructions, with little steps Space went and collected the items needed.
Whole cashews
All-purpose flour
Baking powder
Unsalted butter
Sugar
Vanilla extract
Egg whites
They thankfully have it all.
Before proceeding, they check on Sock to see he finished his little breakfast and "smiled" seeing he was done. They patted the top of his head before placing their hands on their hips.
"Alright buddy. We got some cookies to make. Eeeeven though I don't really need eat. Still nice!"
Sock didn't know what they said, but he was excited as the being went about the kitchen grabbing the many things they need and started. Didn't help that when it came to the egg whites that the skink tried to get in the mixing bowl to eat it. Space had to then grab his little dish from his cage to crack a whole egg in it to sate him.
With it all mixed and balls of dough pressed out into circles and the oven heated up, it looked like the aurora borealis spread across their face like a person blushing. The vivid blues and greens standing out from the black matter of their body with the speckles of stars and the mini sun at the center.
They were excited as they had put the cookies into the oven, setting down a little saturn timer they found before picking the skink back up to head over to the TV. Space turned it on and sat down, resting Sock on their shoulders again for him to be comfortable.
The timer went off and Space was quick and careful with standing up with the skink on their shoulders to hustle into the kitchen. They opened up the oven and that aurora blush came back. There was no need for oven mitts as they pulled out the cookie sheet with those round circles with little cut cashews in the center.
They set it down to let the cookies cool for a bit, too giddy about this that their wings flapped a bit. Thank goodness that they shrunk them down to size so they wouldn't knock anything down. Other than that, they can say that it's a job well done.

*Gjallerdoodles is a cookie from the videogame called Destiny 2 that Bungie created. And yes, there is an actual cook book they made.
