Today (Jan 19th, '26) is my tenth anniversary of posting fic on Ao3! I had chosen the name SpaceJackalope arbitrarily on New Year's Eve, and was finally ready to send out to the world a very silly Star Wars crack ship fic (that, lol, proceeded to become part of a somewhat popular sincere ship for many people) and today I have posted a total of...

...in more than 50 fandoms...
...containing 528,523 words...
...with almost 84,000 hits (wow!! 2016 me, yes, people really will read my writing, and even strangers!)...
...and I participated in more than a dozen events, returning to some of them for multiple years...
...tried out a lot of techniques and formats...
...and made a lot of friends!
Which is all to say that I owe so much joy to this hobby. I'm grateful for all of the many people who have said kind and encouraging things (especially @thaumatologist, who got me to make the account in the first place), and if you're reading this--yes, I think you should try posting your fic, too.
