Spacemaster was published in 1988 (is this 2nd ed?).
And I just want to talk about this one image. A small black and white illustration on page 10 of the GM book. Utterly forgettable and silently amazing. An amazing mix of sci-fi and kitchen sink realism. This is the influence of “Alien”, of course. I just love this combo. I also want the experimental art-novel space opera (are there ones? Is there? Let me know!! Like Robbe-Grillet or Proust does Dune). There's a bit of 2001 also. This man looking out into space, with a (styrofoam?) coffee cup. Just perfect. This is where we are (in game terms): space, but real. It’s perfect for what the game is. And it’s just fun. Also being such a simple drawing just adds to the effect.
