Bucky had been cleaning and re-organising his weapons when his cellphone rang. He rchecked his caller ID to see that it was an unregistered contact. He rarely got such calls, most of his friend preferring to visit so he cautiously answered the device, bringing it to his ear slowly.
“Barnes.” He said as a way of greeting the person at the end. “Good morning Mr. Barnes. Sorry for interrupting the course of your day but the principal would like to talk with you. You see, there was a scuffle and-”“I’ll be there in a few.” Bucky replied, not waiting for an answer. He immediately began coming up with different scenarios that could’ve happened and would explain Orion getting into a fight. He would never deliberately provoke another student, that Bucky was sure of.He left the house a bit hurriedly, slightly worried about what could have happened to cause his son to physically attack someone. What if he’s learned about the Soldier? He pondered calling Owens and informing her right away of the situation but he didn’t have all of the facts yet, and he definitely wanted to hear Orion’s side of the story. Arriving to the school in less than a ten minute walk, Bucky headed straight to the reception desk, informing the secretary of the call he’s gotten. To Bucky’s surprise, she accompanied him to the principals office where he found Orion sitting in the small office waiting room, coloring. “Hey buddy, what happened?” He asked, kneeling down to be at the 7 year old’s level. “I heard you got into a fight?” The young boy shook his head. He could hear Owens and the principal talking inside. “I didn’t! Taylor was being mean about you and mommy and I told her to stop and she didn’t and mommy was here to bring me lunch and I told her and she told Taylor’s mommy and they started fighting!” Bucky held out his hand for Orion to stop, a puzzled look on his face. “Slow down, pal. Are you telling me your mom got into a fight at your school, with another mommy?” Orion nodded quickly, “and beat her up too!” At this the door to the principal’s office opened, Aurora stepping out, a small bruise forming on her face. “Do I really want to know?” He asked, frowning. Her answer was to shrug and smile sheepishly. “Hey, you’re the responsible parent, and I’m well, me.” Bucky rolled his eyes before taking both hers and Orion’s hand, leading them out the door. “We’ll talk about this at home.”
