“you look LOST,” thomas comments to the HANDSOME stranger wandering about -- he looks different, with his bright gold shirt and black trousers that don’t remind him of a tailor suit. his brow quirks, and he pulls his cigarette from between his lips. “what ARE you wearing?” did he say that out loud? oops. oh well. “town’s back that way, mate.” he uses his thumb to point behind him. “where’re you from?”

                    so   this   isn’t   going   at   all   the   way   she   planned      (      which ,      to   be   fair ,      is   the   story   of   poppy’s      life      at   this   point      )      but   she   doesn’t   think   she’s   ever   been   so   utterly      screwed      before .      there’s   a   fried   vortex   manipulator   on   her   wrist ,      which   wouldn’t   be   an   issue   at   home ,      but   she’s   not   tech-savvy   and   she   can’t   exactly   hand   it   over   to   anybody   to   be   fixed .      it’s   technology   that   won’t   exist   for   another      . . .      oh ,      three   thousand   years ,      give   or   take  ?      she   thinks   that’s   right ,      judging   by   his   clothing .      so   yeah .      poppy   wants   to   find   a   quiet   corner   somewhere   and   cry .      ❛      i’m      . . .      really   not   supposed   to   be   here .      ❜

just once, leonard wants to be on a landing mission that goes smoothly. where they are welcomed, where the aliens are nice, and gentle, and offer them food and supplies. . . today is not that day. they are on some kind of aquaplanet, where the alien race exists deep underwater, not unlike the stories of atlantis on earth. 

these aliens are not the friendly kind, however, and kill their two red shirt security team members. the three of them are sentenced to a slow and painful death. excellent. 

“do either of you have a plan?” leonard asks as they stand against three separate walls of the cell they occupy. chains hold their wrists above their head. for a moment, there’s quiet. . . and then the sound of water. “oh, for fuck’s sake,” len grumbles, glancing down as the floor starts filling with liquid. “great. this is EXACTLY how i imagined dying!”

               She frowns, curious, amber colored eyes directed at her CAPTAIN. And there´s also confusion painted on her face. “How do you not get involved with others as captain? I do not believe there is another choice for you. But that is what is making you a good captain. You care for the crew, James Tee. This is what made you all survive. On Altamid.” Jaylah lifts her glass, after not being able to take off her edge, she decided to have TEA instead of alcohol. There are a few glasses lining up in front of her on the counter. “You should not worry, James Tee.”

The Time of the Doctor starters

“I know,” he says. “Trust me, I know. But this lot don’t take prisoners. Not usually, anyways, and when they do it’s never for anything good- negotiations are the farthest thing from their minds. They don’t play by the same rules as the rest of the universe because to them the rest of the universe is negligible.” 

The Doctor hesitates, disliking this situation just as much (if not more than) the captain. There’s very little time left before escape will become impossible, but there’s still people down below. And with his involvement far too linked with current events, there’s little he can do to cheat time and clear everyone out. But that’s never stopped him before.

“So let me go back down there.”
