It has been a few weeks since she had stepped back through that tear. Yet she still can’t get that strange world out of her mind. The ethereal glow of the flora. How the sky was streaked with so many shades of purple, more then she could even imagine. She can still smell it in her hair, like lavender mixed with morning dew and fungus.
The desire to explore such a wondrous realm is hard to ignore. It fills her with an excitement she's only felt once before, but still there are doubts. She isn’t free yet nor has she found a safe way to rid herself of the mask. She is still a danger. Was it ethical to subject a whole new reality to that possible threat just for the thrill of adventure? Those doubts circle in her gut even now as she strolls the path leading to the tear she had stumbled upon during her first visit to Incubo. A dimensional tear hidden in the roots of an ancient cypress tree, marked by a stone flecked with amethyst.
She stands in the clearing, looking up at the ancient behemoth. It’s branches almost blocking out all sunlight, leaving an area of only low grasses surrounding it’s massive trunk. Roots jutting out of the earth, like worms breaking the surface.
Mia makes her way towards the cypress, her resolve growing with each step. Maybe the new world will have a way to freedom. She is strong enough to control Yingzi, she wouldn’t have been chosen for the task if she wasn’t. It is fine. Everything will be fine. She ducks beneath the roots and finds the stone, sparkling despite the dark.
As her gaze falls on it the doubts return. Is she doing the right thing? With a violent shake of her head she disregards the thought. Mia plunges her hand towards the stone. A brief feeling of roughness beneath her fingers then a jolt of energy up her arm. The sensation passes quickly and she is blinded by a lavender light.
She staggers, vertigo gripping her. A world of purple hues and soft glowing comes into focus. She steadies herself, a plan forming in her mind. First, she’ll find Spade. The young guardian seemed interesting and she’ll know much about this world. The problem is, Mia has no idea were to start. She shrugs and chooses a random direction. Her trek begins.
