My computer overheated and died several days ago, so I lost a bunch of responses to asks that I had done digitally. So it's back to traditional basics for about 2 months till I get it back!

How does Agent feel about Spy holding onto those pictures of Scout’s Ma

In a MUCH earlier post I detailed that Agent has an underlying fear that Spy is only really using her and will leave her once she becomes too much “effort” to stay with. Scout’s ma reinforces that fear. Agent thinks that once Spy got Scout’s ma pregnant, he left because the relationship was too taxing. She can’t consider the idea that Spy left because he was afraid.

Even so, the idea that Spy still holds love for someone gives Agent a little bit of hope. If it’s possible with Scout’s ma, it could be possible for her.

Wanting to make Spagent jokes deadass got me looking up "how do crabs mate" and turns out the guy crab will cling to the lady crab until she molts and THEN they fuck

How would you (the creator) describe each ship with Agent?

Long post ahead describing four (count em 4) ships so buckle tf up.

Spagent is a ship where they’re similar, and equal in power. One can’t control the other because they’re both wily little shits. Agent can be sarcastic and Spy shoot right back with a stellar comeback (or vice versa), and neither of them are hurt or offended. It also has the potential for lots of drama and angst since they have similar ooh secretive careers. Spies and secret agents IRL aren’t all that different. This is the ship that I gravitate towards when I think of dramatic situations/prompts.

Ageneer is a ship for wholesome, domestic goodness. I’ve already described how I love the Tall Dangerous Woman gets with Short Goofy Guy trope, so I implement it in the ship. Sometimes you need cute, homey fluff without sass or slow-burn. It’s not really a pairing with dramatic potential unless you delve into the comics, but sometimes you need a break from drama.

Pagent is a ship I haven’t given as much thought as the first two, but I have definitely thought about it in different prompts and situations. The idea of Ms Pauling not having time for relationships and suddenly wanting one and thinking “oh no” has a lot of facets. Agent definitely teases and flirts, but once they both realize they’ve caught feelings, that’s when sincere emotions can grow. This is a pairing with lots of slow-burn, mutual pining potential.

Yanagent is a ship I haven’t thought about outside of drawing them, but I do adore how warm and loving it could be. A sleek, lithe secret agent and a huge, protective and independent woman has lots of contrast, but opposites attract! Plus it gives Heavy and Agent a chance to interact, which hasn’t happened all that much.

And those are the big four! Although seriously, you could ship Agent with anyone and I’d be flattered. To think a character I made is shippable is like…a foreign concept, y’know? You could ship her with Merasmus and I’d be like “alright!”

How do you feel about Scout’s Ma?

Agent doesn’t exactly know how to feel about Scout’s ma. When she hears Spy had a girlfriend that he supposedly left after she got pregnant, and she realizes that said girlfriend looks a lot like her…it scares her to think that she’s just the next person on Spy’s list. Just someone to use and leave behind when she starts being more trouble than it’s worth.

Agent has issues regarding her image and self-worth. She wants to do things like wear makeup and heels for herself, but she can’t stand the thought of being thought of as ugly or invalid by others. So when she’s in a relationship, she’s looking for affirmation to feel powerful: yes you’re beautiful, yes I mean it, yes I want this too. Especially with sex. Sex gives her this feeling of “I’m actually desirable to other people.” And that’s a dangerous thing. It makes her really dependent. And it isn’t healthy at all.

But Agent doesn’t want anyone to see that, so she cracks a joke about how Scout’s Ma looks an awful lot like her and leaves it at that.
