Conversations with sparkleplatypus this morning:
Me: Will God forgive me for driving instead of biking to school today?
Her: You don’t believe in God.
(later)
Me: What is LSD with cocaine like?
Her: Oh my god it’s my favorite!

(What’s the most important part of a relationship?)
For me a strong friendship really sits at the core of a good relationship. I have to feel happy with each of us just doing our own things and sharing the space comfortably. Additionally I have to feel like we can talk— not just communicate, which is obviously a necessity, but converse and enjoy each other’s company.
(What do you consider a deal breaker?)
If I feel like I can’t be honest about my needs or boundaries, that’s probably the biggest one. Having conflicting needs.
Not being able to communicate authentically— this is actually a really hard one. Sometimes I feel like I understand perfectly well what another person is saying, but get the sense that it’s not quite what they actually mean, and that’s a problem. Generally I think this happens because of someone saying what they think the other person wants instead of being honest.
(If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice about dating what would it be?)
Wow, to when? To my sophomore year? To my high-school self? General advice is maybe to not take everything so seriously.
I guess if I could tell my 17-year old self one thing, it’d be that just because it’s true love doesn’t mean it’s destiny. And if I could go back to my sophomore year, I’d warn myself that only static things can make promises, and I am not static.
golly you people are making me blush (◡‿◡✿)
sparkleplatypus is a really cute human and I like her a lot and I am so glad we spend time with each other.
