Thoughts on the Sparklewarf?
The Sparklewarf was made for this year's April Fool's prank. (Personally I'm not a fan of April Fool's being Artist's Day Off 2.0, but that's beside the point.) The name implies that it's a Warf, which...I mean, I guess it is based on pose and they eye marking? It really doesn't feel like one at all though, so I kind of question why they bothered making it a pre-existing petpet at all, seeing this also isn't a paintable colour.
In fact, it's extra weird because it's lab-ray only, which means that it's not eligible for the avatar featuring it (as you need one of the items that came on this day in your inventory, and you can't remove lab petpets. Smooth move there.)
Anyway, the Sparklewarf is meant to be a parody of sparkledogs (as the name implies), and I'd say it does a good job of it. You have the anime eyes, the bright colors, the fishnet stockings, and the half angel and half devil wings. You can't tell from the above, but the eye is also animated for both the petpet and the avatar, which is a nice touch.
This kind of makes me wish that that this was an actual petpet colour instead of just a one-off thing, with one released each Artist's Day Off or something. It's honestly pretty legitimately funny, and I think there's a lot potential for early 2000's DeviantArt-esc Kadoaties and Feepits.
So yeah, overall, this is pretty good even if the execution surrounding it was messy. OC donut steal.
