Bunny Pranks
Prompt: “Give me a minute, I’m going to tickle the shit out of you.” Requested by: @occasionally-writing - Here is number 6 of the grumpy starters. I hope that you’re okay with it being my modern AU, You’re My Muse!
Honestly, he only had himself to blame for this happening. It was him who started pranking the other man to get his, now, boyfriend’s attention when they first met. So it shouldn’t be a surprise when Lan Wangji does it to him. But it always is. It’s only natural to feel a little neglected when your boyfriend holds up in the at home studio for almost a week working. How many hours had he worked today? He doesn’t quite remember but does know that he came stumbling out two hours ago needing a nap that wasn’t on the couch in the studio.
Their nice soft bed was calling him. He’d called out for his boyfriend but he didn’t get a response so he’d crawled into bed specifically on Lan Wangji’s side. His face pressed into the man’s pillow breathing in the sandalwood scent of his shampoo in the pillowcase. The moment he had closed his eyes he fell blissfully asleep.
The feeling of something crawling and hopping on and around him woke him up. A small frown spread across his face as he opened his eyes to find, Bichen, their white bunny with the silver and light blue collar nuzzling his hand. The only one that truly likes him besides Wangji - which was probably the one loafing calmly on his back. He gave Bichen a gentle rub on his head before turning his head the other way to find Liebing with Zidian hopping around on his normal side of the bed. His gaze shifted seeing that it wasn’t just the main four but the other six was on the bed too.
“I think our Lan Zhan is trying to say something A-Chen. Let’s go talk to him about it.” Wei Ying said cheerfully, rubbing it’s head and ears again before deciding to get up. He dislodged Wangji who jumped off him then off the bed towards the door. Wei Wuxian stretched feeling his bones crack and pop. He chuckled seeing the bunnies start to trail after Wangji. So he quickly got up to open the door before they all made it there.
Opening the door, he could smell that Lan Wangji was cooking. Wei Wuxian grinned walking out into the hallway, watching the bunnies hop over themselves to get away. As he got closer to their kitchen he could hear the pop music being played. He stopped in the doorway of the kitchen. His eyes drifting from the reusable grocery bags that his boyfriend had yet to put up, to the man himself.
There at the island his most favorite person in the world had his back to him. Lan Wangji looked soft in the grey sweats and an oversized t-shirt under the blue kitchen apron. His shoulder length black hair was pulled back in a ponytail. The knife scraping the cutting board let him know he was cutting something up.
He stepped forward like a moth to a flame. Wei Wuxian has never been able to resist being near Lan Wangji in any state.
“So you think you’re funny, Lan Zhan?” Wei Wuxian teased as he walked into the room. A grin sliding across his face as he saw the other man’s ears start to tinge red before he rounded the island to face him.
Hilarious. Lan Wangji signed after setting down his fruit knife. He’d been cutting up fruit and vegetables for a salad. One that Lan Wanji modified to add chicken and strawberries for him. Wei Wuxian licked his lips snatching a for a strawberry from the bowl of prewashed ones that his boyfriend hadn’t cut yet.
“So, is there something that you want to say to me?”
Is there anything that you want to say to me? Lan Wangji signed after cleaning his hands of the orange juices on the rag on the island after putting them in a bowl.
“Wanna play a game?” Wei Wuxian asked dropping his tone, bordering on sultry as he took a bite of the strawberry.
Nope, now take those to the table. No eating, the soup that is already in there! Lan Wangji gestured behind Wei Wuxian on the counter. His gaze diverted to focus pointedly at his hands.
“I don’t believe you, Lan Zhan. I think you’ll have to convince me that there isn’t anymore bunny surprises waiting for me.” Wei Wuxian teased him again, making the other give him an unimpressed glare. He couldn't help but giggle grabbing the two plates distractedly “I think the best way would be to-” He paused as he brought the plates up towards his face realizing what was on them. One plate was filled with perfectly stacked cut apple slices in the shape of bunnies. The other one had carrot shaped croissants on it to go with the salad.
Wei Wuxian bit his lip as he looked over to see those adorable ears and his cheeks dusting a rather lovely shade of red as Lan Wangji refused to look at him. He plopped the plates down, careful not to dislodge any of the food. The sound made Lan Wangji look up at him. A little wide eyed at the sudden sound of glass on concrete countertop.
“Baby, I’m going to need you to put down the knife.”
Why? Lan Wangji asked frowning as he signed.
“Because I don’t want you to have it in your hand while you give me a minute to tickle the shit out of you.” Wei Wuxian explained with a grin. Lan Wangji shook his head but dropped the knife regardless when he saw the gleam in Wei Wuxian’s eye.
Don’t. You. Dare. Lan Wangji gestured backing up before bolting into the living room.
“Oh I dare, Lan Zhan.” Wei Wuxian chuckled, rounding the counter after him. Lan Wangji was almost to the couch when he felt the brief softness of one of the bunnies against his bare foot, making him stop. Distracted, he forgot about his boyfriend until it was too late. Wei Wuxian grabbed hold of him pulling him along as he fell onto the couch. In his boyfriend’s arms, Lan Wangji tried to get away but those skillful fingers made their way beneath his apron and t-shirt digging into his ticklish left hip and just under the right rib. Lan Wangji couldn’t help but laugh while trying to wiggle away from him. Wei Wuxian tickled him even more when Lan Wangji tried to go for Wei Wuxian’s ticklish spot behind his knee.
“That was fun, Lan Zhan.” Wei Wuxian stated smugly as Lan Wangji panted, his back against Wei Wuxian’s chest. His beautiful pale skin flushed red from the exertion. He nuzzled, pressing a kiss to that warm cheek earning a swat on the hand. Before Wei Wuxian could say anything, his stomach growled loud.
Let’s go eat. Lan Wangji signed, hands still a little shaky.
“Then if you want, afterwards we can cuddle with the bunnies on the couch?”
Bath first. Lan Wangji replied getting up.
“Hey! Lan Zhan!” Wei Wuxian called after him getting up to follow his boyfriend back into the kitchen for a delicious late lunch.
