Screen recording of what the website used to be like. Not everything loads the way it's supposed to anymore, and the recording is rather speedy. Every time you return to the home screen there would be a different lyric on the typewriter, which I thought was really fun, and I love the sound effects! Unfortunately the discography section doesn't work at all anymore though, that was one of my favourite parts. It used to have a carousel where you could flip through all the albums, you could read the lyrics and also play some of the songs.
I have been thinking about Sparks' website from before the FFS era quite a lot recently and got the idea to visit it through the waybackmachine. Unfortunately it’s all flash based so it doesn’t work anymore... But I just found this screenshot on my laptop! I was clever back in 2012, having made a screenshot of this thing of beauty in case they'd change it one day. Not the greatest site for accessibility, I'll admit, but it truly was such a work of art. You could click on the different objects to open different pages, and the quote on the typewriter would be a different one when you would reload the site. My favourite part was clicking on the stack of vinyl and it would load a carrousel showing all the albums. When you'd click on an album it would show you all the lyrics for the album. Unfortunately I didn't take screenshots of that part of the website, but at least we can still admire the beautiful homepage.
... I do have this though! This must have been from the day I found out they were not only still active, but also currently touring. So I took this screenshot when I learned I was going to see them for the first time :)
If other people have more screenshots, please add them :) I would love to see it all again! (Screenshots from even older versions of their website would also be very cool to see.)
