An interactive workshop, examining underlying neo-colonial and neoliberal values of the recent Education White Paper ‘Educational Excellence Everywhere’ - which includes plans for all schools to become Academies - as a basis for focused analysis of various themes including British Values and coloniality; Capitalist values and ‘character building’; data & accountability; profiteering; leadership structures; and climates of fear in the mainstream education system. The workshop will include opportunities to think through and prepare creative responses to this, including conversations, educational tools, props, and placards to carry with us on the upcoming NUT strike day and beyond.
If it's sunny we will be outside in the garden!
