Yknow how we have the backrooms and liminal spaces and dead mall gothic?? Well i predict that there will be a decaying seaside town aesthetic sometime within the next 3 years. Why?? Well maybe its cause im a brit but our seaside towns are very much decaying due to lack of funding. I feel like the decaying british seaside with its boarded up shops, lost opportunities and empty pebbled beaches beside a grey sea could very much become a new gothic aesthetic, especially as it basically representing the end of an era. Your childhood summers spent at the beach are now being washed away by the sea. The world you grew up in does not exist anymore.
And it will be called coastal gothic......
