In 2015 while heading to vacation with the family, we received a phone call from Hazelwood East’s Head Varsity Cheerleadering Coach. She informed us that Alanna had done exceptionally well during cheerleading tryouts but Teirra struggled with her routines and stunts. She also told us that she was interested in keeping Alanna but Teirra would have to tryout next year. Teirra shredded a few tears and even began to doubt her ability to be a cheerleader all together. After a brief conversation with their mother, the coach decided not to separate the twin sisters and to give Teirra a spot as an alternate. Fast forward 3 years later. After nights of practice, numerous tumbling sessions at Kids World, several cheer camps, several All American nomination, tonight Teirra was named Spartan of the Year. As a father I couldn’t be more proud of her. It’s been amazing to see her overcome adversity. #FamilyFirst #DaddyLilGirl #SpartanOftheYear #HazelwoodEastHighSchool #CheerDad (at Hazelwood East High School)
