So my Favorite of the rare pairs and incidentally the most popular one (tho usually not as peoples main ship for those characters ;-;) is Ireland x Norway! I didn't actually start shipping them because I liked them together, I came up with the ship by hc-ing Ireland as Iceland's mom and then it just kinda spiraled. So, you can thank the Irish monks that briefly lived in Iceland for the existence of this ship lol

Then there is Sweden x Greece <3, I ship them because of the Varangian Guard, which was a unit of the Byzantine army that doubled as the emperors personal guard, very much indulging in a "Noble x Bodyguard" trope with this ship. Also whether they're actually together in the universe or not Heracles was the reason Björn realized he was gay, it's canon I don't make the rules

Spain x Austria x Hungary is really more two popular ships shoved together bc I'm indecisive. Also because of this fic (that I lost 😭) that takes place right after Erzsébet moved in with Roderich, while he and Antonio are still married. Antonio comes to visit sees Ezsí goes "oh! is this your mistress?" Roderich says no, Antonio dead serious goes "can she be mine?" and the scene was so silly and stuck in my head for so long I ship them now <3 (the entire convo in the fic happened in Spanish and Erzsí had no clue what they were saying until Roderich told her later lmao)

Then last but not least is The Polycule(TM), it is ever growing, but consists of Germany, Italy, America, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Switzerland & Japan and someone new will probably be there by next week lol. It's all kinda complicated so I'll make a different post explaining who is dating who and who isn't but this one came from an RP I was in that had AmeLiet and GerIta, and Alfred and Ludwig had longstanding crushes on each other that they had mutually swept under the carpet until they accidentally confessed while both drunk at a new years party, a lot of awkward conversations and Feli somehow thinking they had entered a swingers arrangement later, GerAmeLietIta existed, and it just kept growing.

Now thinking of Austria and his ex-spouses. Him still sending them gifts, on their anniversaries, on their birthdays, and on Valentine’s Day. He just still cares for them so much, even if he tries to deny that the gifts are from him out of embarrassment.

random thought about the bible camp AU but I was thinking about the time when Erzsébet leaves her family (Roderich and their adoptive son Feliciano) for a while thinking it’s what she needs and while she’s gone Feli and Roderich develop a deeper connection to each other but also to Antonio and Lovino. You see Antonio has been a single father from the start but for Roderich it’s a new challenge, especially with Feli missing his mum 😔

They spend a lot of time together and naturally they get really close to each other. 👀 It was never their intention for anything to happen but it’s a hard time for Roderich and Antonio is just so nice and welcoming and warm and his smile is captivating and his hands are calloused but his lips are soft.. 😩💖 what I’m trying to say is I think it’s foolish to believe that there was nothing going on during that time and when Erzsébet and Roderich got back together he was terrified of what she would say but if she ever found out. 🙊 But she knew it from the moment she saw her husband and Antonio awkwardly trying to avoid each other at the monthly church café they all organise together and she’s not opposed to the idea of a semi-open relationship.

More Austria + ex wife and ex husband headcanons please

Austria at first realizes he still has feelings for Hungary so they get back together first. Later he realizes the same with Spain and he ends up starting to date him as well.

Their relationship can be described as Hungary saying “This is my boyfriend/ex husband, and this is my boyfriend/ex husband’s boyfriend/ex husband.”

They team up with Prussia to finally get him some new fucking underwear.

He loves buying them both gifts and they appreciate them sm. They also get him gifts too. Hungary is good at gift giving although sometimes she’ll give gifts she wants him to wear (lingerie) or use with her (censored). Spain can also give good gifts but if he gifts clothes… Austria will cry. Man is a disaster gay dresser.

Hungary will paint both their nails (Spain also does this with the bft but Hungary indulges his wanting ever nail a different colour lol).

Hungary thinks Spain is sexy and cute, but since he’s gay respects that and they’re just good friends. So not a complete triangle of lovers but they do enjoy the others company if both at Austria’s.
