okay so working at summer camp is awesome but it’s also insanely goofy. one minute every kid is trying to trick me with like 5 different iterations of the same toilet joke. the next minute i’m trying to explain the concept of nonbinary to three first graders at once. and an hour later im exasperatedly telling the whole group to count how many mini panes of glass are in the windows of the entire room while my coworker assembles boxes for the diorama craft activity as fast as they humanly can.

when i was like 10 years old and we were remodeling the house my parents didn’t let me pick out decorations to make my room look dark and castle-like because they thought it was a phase and that i would regret it later if i did. unfortunately i think 10 year old me was in fact completely right about what my broad tastes would be for the rest of my life. kinda wishing i had fantasy wall sconces and deep plum colored walls now.
