Nickel was scavenging around for possible parts, but more likely she'd have to melt down any scraps of metal she would be able to find before they'd be usable. ultimately, she'd need enough to create an energon converter since the planet she's stranded on is desperately low on the stuff. after a while, she stopped and pulled up her gps and a weather radar. after consulting them, she dipped into a cave. Unbeknownst to her, the cave she just entered to ride out the storm was home to another.
Predaking rested lightly; he had slipped into the cave at the break of the dawn but the constant emptiness of his tanks gnawed at him and what rest he could gain was thin and worrisome. His tail twitched as he slumbered, claws flexing against the stone to leave new gouges over old; he had had but little Energon in recent memory, making sure to bring the lion’s share to his packmates.
But the Decepticons who came to this benighted mudball were growing wary of the mountains he and his had claimed, and fewer and fewer dared venture close. Thus was he required to wander further and further afield to find adequate prey.
So his venturing had lead him past his usual haunts, and to this barren cave. It had been empty when he had come upon it, the local organics abandoning it in favor of the superior predator, and he had made himself as comfortable as he may. It was cold without his pack to warm it, but it would suffice for the day.
It did not take much, therefore, to awaken him. Indeed, great yellow optics snapped open at the first scrabbling at the entrance; however, such was the size of the one entering that Predaking could not tell them from the stones save for their movements. Still, the heady scent of a full Energon tank wafted through the cave, and he could not help the grinding rumble as his internals seized painfully in their emptiness.
