This term, we have the absolute honour of hosting Tamsyn Muir, the award-winning author of the Locked Tomb series! Muir is also a prolific writer of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy short stories, taking every opportunity to bend and combine genres. If you're not yet familiar with her work, I don't know what more to say to you than "queer necromancers in space solve a murder mystery". What more could a science fiction and fantasy society want? 

This event will take place at 2pm on Monday the 22nd of June, in Cambridge, UK, and unlike our regular events, will be ticketed: please head to the form below to secure your place! Tickets are free for members and £5 for non-members, but please still fill in the form if you are a member so that we have an idea of numbers. There will also be an option to buy membership, which gives you free access to all our speaker events as well as use of our incredible library.

Wandering nightgaunts, post-apocalyptic lesbians, and non-binary cosmic horrors, we are DELIGHTED to announce our first speaker event of the term with William A. Wellman of Hello From the Hallowoods!

Mx. Wellman will be joining us at 7pm on 16th February at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, UK, to talk about their audio fiction work and queerness in horror. It was an absolute honour to host the wonderful William A. Wellman for their fabulous talk on queer experiences in horror last night ahead of @hellofromthehallowoods' Season 6 premiere!! Enormous thanks to everyone who attended, and most of all to Mx. Wellman for making the trip out to join CUSFS for the evening!

Heya! I'm a non-student and SFF writer based in London. My friend (who co-runs an independent literary spec fic press) and I are TLT superfans and would love to come to the Tamsyn Muir talk (in fact, my friend is from NZ and is roughly the same generation as Tamsyn and tells me the books are chock full of references that go way over my head...) Anyway, may I ask if your events open to the public or Cambridge uni only? I don't want to be that weird person in their 30s showing up uninvited to an event just for students 🙃

hey! as fellow TLT superfans we'd love to have you & your friend along!! there'll be a lot of students for sure, but the event's open to everyone & hopefully plenty of readers from Cambridge and beyond will be interested in coming. we're going to be shouting about this event much more in the next week or so as we finalise details with Tamsyn and her team—so consider yourself very much invited :)
