concept: a mage who's been cursed with endless hunger, which nothing but the flesh of other people can satisfy...the person who cursed them hoped they'd become a horrible maneating monster, but the mage found a way to circumvent it by inventing a spell that allows them to safely injest people for a time.

Now it's become a whole subset of magic they're pioneering, constantly inventing and improving on spells that allow for safely eating people- while having a steady supply of test subjects for it. Turns out, they quite like the feeling of live prey...
