Lil spec evo dude I’ve been thinking abt.

Maybe in a few million years the omnivorous maned wolf evolves into the herbivorous maned antelope! Paws fuse into llama-like hooves and legs grow even longer to see over super tall grass. A broader snout allows for filtering out the dry dusty air. Added fluff helps them to hold onto the maned wolf’s famously dank odor for better scent marking.

I did this after learning of maned wolves freaky fused toe beans and their proclivity for fruits. Now I can’t help but imagine what a South American Savannah might look like in a handful of millions of years 🤔
