Chiseled out from wants, lust, and desires

Every curve, lump, jagged edge, and crooked line purposeful

Like an artist begging for the words,

"This is what beauty means"

to be understood on a deeper level

The words bubble beneath my lips

I catch them and swallow them back down

To harbor in my chest-

The place they grew from

It becomes a more difficult task each time it occurs

Which is far too often these days

I want to shout the three words from mountain tops

But for now, I breathe them to life while you're asleep

And then tuck them away for safekeeping
