The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that is wrong with the world
Dr. Paul Farmer
It amazes me how people can love their dog/cat/pet so much yet not care about "farm" animals in the slightest.
Selective compassion is disturbing at best. Rights are not arbitrarily given out based on an animals usefulness to us. Either you believe all animals have a right to life or your logic is flawed.
If we based a persons rights off of what they can do for us and not the fact that they are human and deserve rights it would be discrimination. Is it so hard to understand that what we are doing to animals is discriminating against them just for being a certain kind of animal and that it's wrong? Speciesm is a very real and very troubling issue people don't seem to understand or care about and it's sad.
we are not a witness to the ruin. we are the ruin to be witnessed.
